The Art of the Crib Escape

Hi everyone!! This is Wade, the oldest twin.

I am happy to report that desperation breeds genius. My mamamamamama is always finding new ways to challenge me. For instance; she put these things through the oatmeal hiding door so I couldn’t open it. It took me some study time to figure out that she was just giving me the opportunity to explore the doors above, though none of those had oatmeal, just a bunch of crashy stuff (I think she called them dishes??). Then she put up a short wall, but it wasn’t very well built because if I pushed it enough it wobbled and fell. When she made it less wibbly wobbly, it made it easier to climb, so she took it down. I am waiting for the next wall challenge, those are my favorite.

Just the other day when I finally climbed out of the sleeping cage, she made it even taller. I knew she was just as excited as I was when I climbed right out– I could tell because she said my name really loud and excited.

To give me a bigger challenge she snapped my pants together. That one was tough. I tried to pull my legs apart but I after a while I decided to sleep on it. Sometimes sleep gives me good ideas. It is sort of like when Mamamamama is in the splashy bath room, she always comes out of there with good ideas. The next day I almost had it figured out, but was tuckered out so I slept on it again. Then my genius kicked in when big sister Ivy picked me up to carry me to the sleeping cage for a nap.  I finally figured out that if I shimmy the pant legs up to my knees I can climb up and over my sleeping cage and open all the doors, or rescue Harley from sleep.  Mamamamamama always comes in to see what a good job I have done. The next time she pinned my toes together…she didn’t poke me, just herself, I could tell because she got all zasberated. She did a good job on that one, but I was too tired to work it out so I just went to sleep. When she did it the next day for nap time she poked herself again. This time she didn’t even have to put me in the sleep cage before I pulled my legs apart. She tried to put in more pins, but I just kept pulling my legs apart. She was so proud her eyes got all wet. Then she just sat there and kept telling me to lie down. Standing up and laying down over and over again is exhausting so I closed my eyes for a second.

sleep sack to the rescue!!!

After dinner she was looking for something and I heard her say EUREKA!!! Sometimes she says weird words very excited like. She put this zippy blanket on that I haven’t worn since I was little. my feet were stuck and I couldn’t find the zipper. I am sure I will figure this one out soon.

I Live in the glorious state of Texas and I am the Mother of 6. As such I enjoy reading, leisurely walks, quiet time, sleeping all night and sleeping in, naps, and watching a full episode of any show without having to pause. Which means I have another 18 years, at least, before any of these things happen. I am ok with that (mostly, I could really go for a nap).
